State of the Theatre - June 2019

Updated: Jun 6, 2019

Executive Director Suzanne Hudson-Smith shares her thoughts about Players by the Sea in June 2019.

So Many Ways to Get Involved this Summer!

It's that time of year and we need your support to finish strong! Once again, the Irene and Gasper Lazzara Family Foundation will be the presenting sponsor of the summer musical fundraiser, SHREK The Musical. We’ve been challenged to match this gift for this year! All gifts – no matter the size – will match the sponsor gift dollar for dollar as we race to the goal of raising $10,000 by June 30. Individual support from friends and foundations funds our operations, allowing us to focus our creative energy on providing community members opportunities to express their creativity on the stage and behind the scenes. You can double the impact of your gift by making a donation right now.

Volunteers are the life blood of your community theatre -- from the stage performers to the backstage tech crew to front of house -- to just everyday ways you can get involved, we are ACTIVE! We've hosted special cleaning days and will continue to schedule opportunities for your involvement. I hope you will find your niche with us. Join us on Saturday, June 8 from 10a - 2pm for a Sip and Sort of our Costume Shop! Drop in, we've got plenty to do. Follow the PBTS Volunteer page on Facebook or sign up to volunteer on our website.

It's been a full season of incredible shows and I invite you to come to Players by the Sea on June 25 for a celebration of the last year, mix and mingle with the Board of Directors, meet new board members and take a look at Season 54. RSVP here!

Your support of Players by the Sea, whether with your time or your talents or your treasures keeps the theatre alive and active! I appreciate every gift and your spirit to give.

Thank you for being you and enjoying the craft that is community theatre. We love what we do, and that we're doing it for you makes it all worthwhile.

Hope to see you June 25 at 7pm!
