State of the Theatre - December 2018
Executive Director Suzanne Hudson-Smith shares her thoughts about Players by the Sea in December of 2018.
I started the first State of the Art while at the auditions for Noises Off! and now December welcomes this fabulous farce to our stage, giving you a romp through plays within the play and nonstop comedy -- what else could you want this holiday season but to share a laugh with 100 other theatre patrons at Players by the Sea.
It's year end and you can make all the difference for your community theatre - come see Noises Off!, bring your friends, give the gift of theatre to everyone you know! I always say we couldn't do it without you -- and as you can see by the theme of the Grune Family Gallery and our new education program, we couldn't do it without talented volunteers that work backstage to make the magic you enjoy each performance. There's a volunteer running the lights, moving the set, building the set, creating the sound effects, dressing the actors (so very important) and calling the show! These technically focused volunteers truly are the Creativity behind the Curtain.
We have some lofty goals for 2019! But before we turn that corner, I hope to see you at Players by the Sea for Noises Off! Give the gift of theatre this holiday season. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
