After careful thought and deliberation of our duties in the face of the COVID- 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, and in what we believe is in the best interest of our patrons, staff, and community. Players by the Sea has suspended operations until further notice.
The building and box office remain closed at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and make decisions based upon guidelines from the CDC. We will remain vigilant about following all recommendations carefully.
Please keep our theater community at heart as we support each other with kindness and patience through this difficult and uncertain time.
We will continue to provide updates to our members and patrons, via email, social media and our website. Please check back regularly for updates as we move forward. For more information regarding current restrictions, please visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov.
PBTS COVID-19 UPDATE
AS OF MAY 6, 2020
Dear PBTS Patrons,
Thank you for your patience and support during this difficult time. The health and safety of the Players community is our foremost concern. What follows is an update on the impact that the current health crisis is having on PBTS programs and our plans to work with you to retain the value of your existing purchases. At this stage, these plans are subject to further direction from the CDC regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, we are cancelling the remainder of our 2019-20 Season. If you had purchased tickets (memberships, or single tickets) for Two Trains Running, Spring Awakening, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, or The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the following options are available to redeem the value of your unused tickets:
Donation: As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we ask that you consider donating the value of your tickets as a tax-deductible contribution. Your support will help PBTS endure these challenging times. Again, all donations are 100% tax-deductible. Thank you!
As part of the Coronavirus relief bill, all taxpayers are eligible for a universal tax deduction of up to $300 for total charitable contributions made in the 2020 tax year. In addition, for those who do itemize, the cap on deductions for charitable contributions has been lifted for 2020 from 60% of adjusted gross income to 100%.
Ticket Credit: The Box Office is closed at this time; once it reopens, you will be able to call in and exchange each unused ticket that you purchased for any performances after March 15, 2020, for one ticket to any performance during the upcoming 2020-2021 Season (excluding fundraisers and special events.)
Membership Credit: For unused tickets remaining in your membership package, you will be able to apply them to any performance during the upcoming 2020-21 Season. We will be contacting all members via email with more information. Our Box Office is currently closed, if you have any questions regarding your membership, please email Ramona Ramdeen at email@example.com.
The 2020-21 Mainstage Season
We are working hard to reschedule Season 55. We will be in touch with you in the coming weeks about the exciting lineup for PBTS’ 2020-2021 Season. This will be a season of great theatre that you won’t want to miss.
PEP! (Players Education Programs and Summer Camps)
We are planning to continue teaching virtually, and we hope to reschedule our Summer Camp for late July or early August (if CDC guidelines allow). We are working hard to reschedule and make that determination. We will contact all parents with refund/enrollment options once a determination has been made.
Thank you again for your support during this extended public health crisis. We look forward to opening our doors soon so that we can once again bring professional quality live theatre to our Beaches community and surrounding areas.
