Synopsis
When a family gathers for a funeral, you can be sure of old grievances re-surfacing, rueful remembrances and, if it’s a French family, love-making. Middle-aged siblings Nathan, Édith, and Alex are all single and uneasy with their lives. When Elisa, Alex’s former mistress, shows up, things get complicated, especially when Elisa declares that it was always Nathan that she loved. Charming Uncle Pierre and his wife Julienne provide the wisdom of older heads and an appealing example of conjugal felicity. The “conversations” of the title provide humor, insight, romance and hope for the future.
