PLAYERS BY THE SEA: Grune Family Gallery
In 2010, George and BettyLu Grune, longtime patrons of Players by the Sea, generously made the renovations to the “Grune Family Gallery” possible. George was the Chairman and CEO of The Wallace Reader’s Digest Foundation, and has served on the board of the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and the National Boy and Girls Club.
The official launch of the gallery took place during the 2009-2010 PBTS theatrical season with a hugely successful juried art show for which over 100 artists submitted, and more than 25 were selected to be featured.
Since that time, PBTS has continued to support local artists by featuring and selling their work in rotation with each Mainstage and Studio Theatre production. The gallery is open to visitors during the run of each production.

The Jacksonville Coalition for Visual Arts will hold a Juried Art show on March 4th before the opening of The Merchant of Venice.
JCVA is a unique organization and are dedicated to the promotion and development of established as well as emerging artists. Their members represent a wide variety of ages, specialties & experience. They currently sponsor four juried exhibitions a year, at various venues on the First Coast. Each show has an opening reception with a presentation of cash awards & ribbons. They welcome both two and three dimensional media which can be hung or displayed on a podium.
